Co-President Update

Hello Madison Families and Happy Fall! We have some exciting events planned for October and wanted to send some quick reminders.

Unity Day
On Wednesday, October 20 we are encouraging the Madison community to wear orange to celebrate Unity Day. You can learn more about unity day HERE which is an event created by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to encourage kindness and acceptance. The PTO has purchased appropriate books for each classroom that will reinforce this message. The list includes:

  • K- If You Plant a Seed
  • 1 – Not Quite Narwhal
  • 2 – Perfectly Norman
  • 3 – I’m Here
  • 4 – The Boy Who Grew Flowers
  • 5 – Each Kindness

We will also have a very exciting assembly on the morning of Tuesday, October 19 from Matt Wilhelm who is a BMX biker. Matt will share an anti-bullying message and you can learn more about his presentation HERE.

We are excited to celebrate Unity Day with D181!

Fall Spirit Week

We will once again celebrate the Halloween season with a spirit week the week of October 25. Theme days include:

  • PANTHER PRIDE DAY (Monday, 10/25) – Show school spirit in Madison apparel
  • SCARY HAIR DAY (Tuesday, 10/26) – Crazy Hair Day, but with a Halloween twist!
  • SLEEPY HOLLOW DAY (Wednesday, 10/27) – Pajama Day
  • SILLY SPOOKY SOCKS DAY (Thursday, 10/28) – Wear your favorite Silly or Spooky socks
  • COSTUME CRAZE DAY (Friday, 10/29) – Celebrate Halloween a day early and change into your costume during lunchtime! Note: the staff encourages children to go home for lunch to change into their costumes. If they can’t, staff will be on hand at school to help. AM Kindergarteners can wear their costumes to school!

We are always open to your feedback and suggestions so don’t hesitate to reach out!
