Madison School Spelling Bee 2021

Dear Madison 3rd-5th Grade Families,

This year, the Scripps National Spelling Bee has developed an online testing platform that will allow Madison School to host a school spelling bee program, whether your children are learning in classrooms or remotely from your homes.

On Thursday, February 4, we will hold one level of competition through online spelling tests. If your child is interested in participating, the first step to spelling bee participation is for you to register for the Scripps National Spelling Bee’s online testing platform. Please register at your earliest convenience as we will begin assigning tests to students soon. If you have already registered in the online testing platform for another child, you can log in to your account and add an additional child to that same parent account. There is no need to register a different email address for each child in your household.

I encourage you to watch this video tutorial that will walk you through the registration process.

Once you have registered, you will receive a follow up email from Donna Rusick at drusick@d181.org. Please mark this email as safe to ensure it does not end up in your spam.

The two overall students with the highest scores will move on to compete at the District 181 spelling bee, which will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 4:30 pm. More information will be provided to the winners after the school bee is complete.

Please let me know if you have any questions about our school spelling bee program. I look forward to having your child compete to represent our school!

Enjoy the weekend!
Principal, Kim Rutan
