Principal’s Corner

Dear Madison Families,

October is here and with it brings the changing of the leaves and the weather.

Lost and Found
Our lost and found is growing each day. Please encourage your child to check the lost and found if they are missing items –  located near the 1st-floor elevator.

October 11
Just a reminder that Monday, October 11 is a non-attendance day for students.

Dash and Bash
A huge thank you to the PTO for organizing such a wonderful event for the children and families of Madison! The children thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Dash and Bash last weekend. It was amazing to witness the Madison community.

MAP Testing
Our fall MAP testing is complete. The children worked hard to show all that they know and help us plan lessons that meet their needs. We couldn’t be prouder of them.

Drop Off and Pick Up
The yellow cones have arrived. The yellow cones mark the areas that are safe for dropping off or picking up your child.

We are working to make drop-off and pick-up as safe and efficient as possible. You may have noticed the signs in the car rider line asking you to pull forward as well as the sign on Sixth Street asking not to drop off or pick up students on Sixth Street. We know waiting can be hard, but if your child is going to be a car rider, they need to wait by the back of the building where there is adult supervision rather than going around to the front to be picked up on Sixth Street.

Playground
Just a reminder that the playground is closed after school until 3:30. When children are playing on the playground after school, it can be difficult to tell who is still waiting to be picked up and who is with a parent or guardian.

Thank you for helping to keep all of the children safe.

Thank you for your partnership in education!

Sincerely,
Barb Shanahan
Madison Principal
